Since early October, Yayasan Nanyang Press had donated approximately RM150, 000 for Thailand Flood Relief. The manager of Yayasan Nanyang Press, Miss Khor Yuyin, together with Ireen Ong and the reporters of China Press expressed great concern about this disaster and had donated supplies and resources to the affected victims without any hesitation. Miss Khor Yuyin claimed that due to urgency, she had used the fund of RM100, 000 from Yayasn Nanyang Press to purchase supplies and resources without first calling for donation.

“It would be too late to supply foods and clean water after calling for donation. Instead, we should save the victims immediately,” told by the manager of Yayasan Nanyang Press.

The rescue team of Yayasan Nanyang Press mainly helped to send adequate supplies and resources to victims. They were brave and fearless in battling the worst flooding in decades. They were not afraid of any potential health threats such as skin diseases, fungal infections caused by the flood. Apart from that, they had to encounter dangerous animals such as crocodiles and poisonous snakes that may hide in the filthy water. Their courage spurred everyone on.

For example, Tor was a worker who immediately ceased his work and volunteered to help out in the relief effort. Due to the long hours of exposure to the filthy water, Tor was infected with skin disease. He refused to wear boots that especially ordered from China to protect the volunteers but Tor claimed that he wanted to save it for those who had not been infected with skin diseases.

《中国报》艺人马拉松式义卖 筹款助灾民渡难关

（吉隆坡21日讯）国内多个单位和艺人将展开马拉松式表演及义卖物品，筹款协助受水灾困扰的泰国灾民渡过难关，并希望热心人士献爱心，为灾民献一分力。

由南洋报业基金、《中国报》、《南洋商报》、生活杂志、家娱频道、988、NTV7、八度空间、One FM首次联手，于11月5日发动“江湖救急2011．送暖到曼谷”筹款活动，把筹获的物品及款项送去泰国，协助灾民渡过难关。
